The 4 Mile Warrior Run is a scenic and challenging run. The race encompasses some of the challenging and beautiful sections of the historic Cow Harbor Race, it is USATF sanctioned, and there will be race awards and raffles after the race.
Post Race Festivities, raffles and refreshments will take place at Crab Meadow Beach—the location is great for families and racers alike. There is a park for kids to play, a great beach for swimming, and plenty of room to hang out and enjoy a day on the sound. The race is a great warm up for the challenging Cow Harbor 10k race which takes place weekend after.
Race RouteThe run starts at picturesque Crab Meadow Beach Park on Long Island Sound - travels a flat course along Makamah preserve, turns up a hill through a quiet Northport neighborhood, it continues along the rolling bluffs overlooking Northport Harbor, and it finishes fast back down a hill to a flat finish back at Crab Meadow Beach.

Beautiful Steers Beach, located on the eastern shore of Northport bay, will be the ultimate destination for our Cow Harbor Warriors and their families to enjoy a fun and adventure filled day in the sun. Warriors and their families will learn to Kayak, Stand up paddle board and explore the coves and coastline of Northport Bay. When it’s time to kick it up a notch, our Warriors and their families will climb onto tubes and banana boats for some high speed thrill rides in the waters right offshore. Worn out from a 4 mile run or a round of Golf? No problem. Kick back on the beach, dig your feet in the sand and enjoy the view. Lunch is served when the grills get hot and plenty of on-the-beach activities will let our guests enjoy the day….Northport Style!
Saturday - September 6th - 9am @Steers Beach
The families of our Wounded Warriors will make memories of their own at Steers Beach participating in a wide range of totally awesome activities. We’ll start the morning off with yoga on the beach for the adults as well as kids and continue the day with events that appeal to all ages. The Turtle Tug of War will determine who is the strongest while the Treasure Hunt will add a little mystery to the day. The Octopus Obstacle Course may get you slimed if you’re slow, but a quick jump in the water will fix that. For those interested in a more relaxing day, face painting, a sand castle competition, crafts and a water balloon toss will be sure to keep everyone happy. These and other exciting beach activities are sure to make for a fun-filled day in beautiful Northport.
