This year’s Warrior Weekend will be different from previous years, as we will not be housing, hosting and transporting wounded veterans/veterans in need and their families for a 3 day weekend event as we have in the past. As 9/11 falls on a Friday and realizing that many of these soldiers as well as our own communities will be paying respect to those who had perished, we have decided to hold a single day of activities on September 12th, that our entire community can participate in while helping our cause to honor and enable wounded veterans and veterans in need. During the 22 weeks leading up to the third Warrior Weekend, Cow Harbor Warriors will have a succession of awareness activities and fund raising events designed to publicize not only the Cow Harbor Warrior Weekend, but, more importantly, the reasons why it is so incredibly necessary to hold this event – including letting the public know about issues affecting veterans.
